iUdupi Restaurant in Indira Nagar, Bangalore is an Udupi restaurant that serves traditional Udupi and South Indian cuisine in a heritage setting. Our menu includes traditional Udupi fare including the Masala Dosa, Onion Dosa, Neer Dosa, the Udupi Iddli and Vada, Kotte kadubu, Udupi Tali Meal, Mangalore Bajji, Chitranna, Bise Bele Bath, Rasam, Sambar, Pickles, flavored buttermilk, and more, all prepared the traditional way.

 

Vegetarian meals are served on Plantain leaves in a Tali. First accompaniments include a selection of Palya, Kosambari, Gojju, Bajji, Bonda, Vade, Pappads, Pickles, Chutney, and buttermilk. The main course starts with Tovve, a mild lentil dish in ghee, Majjige Huli, vegetables cooked in yogurt, followed by Huli, lentils and spiced vegetables spiced cooked in ghee, mustard, asafoetida and curry leaves, and tili Saaru, a thin lentil stock with ghee and curry leaves. The final course of the meal is rice and curd with pickles, followed by dessert which includes traditional Pelakai halwa.

 

Our restaurant is founded on Udupi hospitality, which goes back to the rich spiritual heritage of our land. Guests are always treated with warmth and respect. Many Udupi dishes belong to the "satvik” tradition of Indian vegetarian cuisine, where even onions or garlic are not used. Others like Goli Bajje are "rajasik”, served with hot chutney.

 

Many of our guests visit us again, and on many days you will find whole extended families celebrating cherished moments in our restaurant, the traditional Udupi way.
